A workshop led by Célia Boulesteix with students from the UPEAA (Educational Unit for Newly Arrived Non-French-Speaking Students) at the Lycée des métiers Lucien Voilin in Puteaux.
The workshop
This workshop explores the image as a “double” of a constantly evolving reality. The materiality of the works evolves, and their interpretation shifts over time. This dual movement lies at the heart of Célia Boulesteix’s work, whose sculptures and installations draw inspiration from everyday photographs of found objects or images, which are then reworked, transposed, retransferred, or revealed on various equally modified media. The evocative power of these photographs is thus reinforced by the materials and forms that accompany and graft onto them. For the author Clément Rosset, whose book lends its title to the project, the “double” presents itself notably as an illusion born of a rewriting of reality, embodied by memories, narratives, or representations. Participants are invited to explore a range of techniques spanning photography and sculpture to invent their own forms of these doubles of reality.
A workshop as part of the program Le Syndrome de Bonnard, ou l’impermanence des œuvres.
