Ruoxi Jin was born in 1997 in Harbin, China.

She graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2024.

Through her site-specific interventions, sculptures, and semi-autobiographical and semi-fictional narratives, Ruoxi Jin weaves a family genealogy and creates a parallel world made up of truths and legends, memory and projection. Narratives about her family members and bereavements allow her to recall past lives and fragments of forgotten stories. The passage between life and death is the source of a reflection on reincarnation which, according to Ruoxi Jin, facilitates the porosity between oneself and others and reinforces empathy. Thus, a stone can become a human, a human a bee, and vice versa. Her sculptures, fragile in appearance and charged with conceptual power, become like the backdrop of a mental theater where the chronological superimposition of memories takes on a new meaning.

The exhibition is inspired by Ruoxi Jin’s encounter with her studio neighbor, Félicité, a Chinese woman who works as a master of ceremonies for Chinese weddings in Paris.
