Exhibition Luciforme at La Crypte d’Orsay :
The Crypte d’Orsay is presenting the Luciforme exhibition by Mercedes Cosano. Invited to take up a creative and mediation residency at Orsay, the artist embarked on a fabulous field investigation prompted by the discovery of a postcard held by the Essonne Departmental Archives. The photograph, dated 1910, shows a man posing in front of a curious rocky cavity in the grounds of Château de Launay. The caption reveals its name: the Fairy Grotto. The Luciforme exhibition is designed as a collection of material and photographic evidence to confirm the presence of fairies at Orsay. Mercedes Cosano is a historian, explorer, investigator and archaeologist. She gathers clues, formulates hypotheses, and works with researchers and local residents to construct each of the fragments that contribute to the creation of this myth.
In echo Salomé by artist Nancy Wilson Pajic :
Salomé is an exceptional monumental cyanotype by artist Nancy Wilson Pajic, held in the collections of the Frac Île-de-France. For the occasion, the hall of the neighbouring auditorium is being used as a venue. The swirling white imprints that appear on this large blue fabric give a dancing form to the fairies invoked by the artist Mercedes Cosano. To complement the show, Orsay is organising a dance performance for young audiences, Ronces (by the Kokeshi company). Together, these programmes invite you to imagine the fantastic beings that lie dormant in Orsay.
